What we should start committing to, and the things we already do

When I was getting ready this morning, I started to think about the biggest challenges we face when trying to exercise consistently, eat healthier and live a healthier life over all.

There are so many different commitments we make in life, such as getting up and going to work every day. It’s something we don’t think about. It’s engrained in us; we wake up, maybe hit snooze a time or two (or five), then we get up and are out the door for work before too long!

So why is it that we can wake up and do that every day (or almost every day), but we can’t commit to investing 30 minutes a day of our time to move our bodies, make that grocery list, or listen to a podcast?

I hear the saying, “something’s got to pay the bills”, all the time! And it is true, we go to work for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest ones is financial, right? Think of it this way, investing in yourself now will pay off, because it will add years to your life! And who doesn’t want to live a long, fulfilling life?

It seems like a no brainer, but it’s something we put on the back burner and don’t feel as committed to doing. It is up to us to invest in our health now so we don’t have to later! Commit to treating your body with the respect it deserves. Treat it like you do when you wake up in the morning and get ready for the work day. Treat yourself like your own boss that wants you to succeed.

We go to work because something has to pay the bills. We should also move and nourish our body so that we don’t have to pay for it later.

Make a commitment to yourself and your health!
